I want to share here what I’ve shared elsewhere.  A new chapter is opening up in my life. In September I will be working with the staff and students of Ranch Park Elementary as the principal, and I can’t wait.

I’ve heard so many good things.  Shortly after the Coquitlam School District announced that I was going to lead Ranch Park, a friend from a previous school called me up and told me right away that a) his kids had gone to Ranch Park b) that it is a wonderful community and a great place and c) I’m going to love it.  I have to say I am very encouraged!  I have since heard the same thing from many friends and acquaintances, and from the staff and parents I have met so far.  This is why I’m so excited to be coming here.  I love coming to work knowing that I am surrounded by adults who passionately collaborate on supporting kids at any age to grow, develop and to be the best that they can.  It’s a rare privilege to be in a leadership role on such a team.

Community is a passionate belief of mine, particularly when it comes to working with and supporting the growth and development of children and young people.  The power of a supportive, positive community is that everybody in it grows and becomes stronger together, more than we might individually.  In a school we work together for our purpose of developing learning and growth in our students, but we also work together to help and support each other as parents, teachers, colleagues and friends.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all in September!Ranch Park

I am an educational leader, a photographer, a thinker, and a parent. We live in a world of abundance on the West Coast of Canada. I learn together with wonderful people in my home, community, work, and church. My goal for my students is that they leave school with confidence based on demonstrated excellence in at least one domain of learning, and with the life, employment and thinking skills to open the many doors of their future.
